If you want to lose weight and get rid of stomach fat then read these successful ways to lose weight even if they sound a bit silly. They work and will not change your life style much, and they will probably make you feel much fitter and full of energy.
The first way is to simply eat slower. Chew your food before you swallow it. One of the reasons we eat a lot is because we pretty much swallow our food whole and that means we can consume a whole lot more before we feel content and nourished. What I am writing about is know as fletcherism. I know, what a silly name. Still, it is a good habit to get into.
Fletcherism means chewing your food for as long as it takes to turn it into a liquid before you swallow it. This can take thirty or more chews of the food so you can imagine you will be eating a lot slower if you do this. We normally feel hunger for circa twenty minutes and then we feel satisfied. We no longer feel the urge to eat. If you use this fletcherism eating method you will most likely eat half the amount of food in those first twenty minutes and there by consume a lot less without feeling hungry.
Eating more hardy foods like whole meal bread and pasta makes chewing for a longer period easier. Processed and refined foods seem to be harder to chew for long as they really don’t have much in them to chew. You have to concentrate more at the chewing before you swallow but it can be done.
The second successful way to lose weight is to drink more water. Water is very important for you well being and there are new theories every week as to how much water you should drink. However, with there being so much food available at all times we seem to have lost our ability to feel thirst naturally. We feel a nagging feeling and we head for the fridge. There must be something there to eat to make me feel satisfied. And I am sure there is, but really it is something to drink that the body is nagging for.
I use a little trick to check whether I am hungry or thirsty. When I feel the nagging feeling I drink a glass of water. If the feeling comes back in the next half hour then I conclude that it is hunger and it is ok to eat. If it does not come back then, well, I guess I was just thirsty. You will be surprised at how often this is the case. And you will be surprised at how much fewer calories you get eat through the day. And claim your natural thirst back.
My last tip is how to lose your stomach fat and get a lean one back again. I dislike sit-ups crunches and the fact that they are so regimented and I find them so easy to postpone for another day. So I have a fun method that I can use everywhere I go. Sitting in the car in traffic, standing in a cue at the post office or even in my kitchen stirring the gravy. It is a simple method of tensing the lower abdomen muscles for a few seconds at a time. I combine it with a breathing method which is used in Yoga and Pilates.
You breathe in slowly through your nose, then you tighten (tense) the muscles in your stomach and lower abdomen and then you breathe out slowly keeping the muscles tight. Your breathing should be deep into your lower part of you lungs so it feels like deep down in you belly which should move outwards. As you breathe out and tighten your muscles your stomach should deflate. Do this for about 3 to 5 minutes at a time and do it several times a day. The deep breathing will give extra oxygen to the lower organs and you will probably feel more energised.
These three tips, although they seem silly, are very simple to introduce into your life and can have huge effect on your weight loss. They are all fun to do and can improve you well being. Try them.
